Weekly Physics Calendar

Regular Events

Details on the events will be communicated frequently via the astro mailing list. If you are affiliated with the department of physics and would like to subscribe to the mailing list, please do so at the astro mailing list page. The registration site is accessible only from computers within the physics department.

  • Wednesday Astrophysics Seminar
  • Physics Department EVENTS and COLLOQUIA
  • KITP Weekly Calendar
  • KITP Astrophysical Programs and Conferences
  • LCOGT Science Seminar Series
    • On (roughly) the third Thursday of each month LCOGT invites a scientist working in a field related to time domain astronomy to visit the observatory and give a seminar. The seminar is held at 4pm in the LCOGT main conference room. Shuttle transportation from and back to campus is provided.
  • Friday Astro Lunch
    • A weekly informal talk series for UCSB/KITP astrophysicists to hear about recent discoveries and ongoing research. Two speakers every Friday, 12pm-1pm, at Broida 3302. Organizers: Kristian Finlator & Brandon Kelly.

  • Daily Astro Tea
    • A daily informal gathering of UCSB/KITP astrophysicists to enjoy a cup of the finest British tea in the local universe. Every day, 3:30pm, at Broida Astro Lounge.

Santa Barbara Astrophysics Meetings

The Santa Barbara Astrophysics Meeting is an annual event in which people actively doing astrophysics research in Santa Barbara (UCSB/KITP/LCOGT) inform each other about their work.

The Las Cumbres Observatory Lectures

This annual lecture series provides an opportunity for community members, students and scientists in Santa Barbara to interact with these high profile scientists from around the work and learn about the frontiers of the exciting fields of astrophysics and cosmology.
