Official Rules
General Rules
The tournament will be divided into two sections: league play and playoffs.

During league play, each team will participate in a match against every other team. Generally, each team will play one match per week; however, to minimize the tournament's length, each team will have one week during league play in which they will be asked to play in two matches. Although the weekly schedule is designed to have the smallest possible impact on the participants' schedules, please complete your matches prior to or during the prescribed week. No worries if you need some leeway though...

Playoffs will commence after all teams have completed their league schedules and each has been ranked according to its league record. Each week of playoffs will contain one round of bracket type matches (the highest ranked team playing the lowest, the 2nd highest playing the second lowest, etc.). The winner of the final match will be the BUST Champion.
Match Rules
A "best of 3" type system will be used during each match of league play; "best of 5" will be used during tournament play. If for whatever reason one of these three (or five) games results in a tie, that game will be dropped and another game played until one team accrues two wins. Once a team earns two wins (or three in tournament play), they win the match and a third (fourth or fifth) game need not be played. Game replays must be saved and emailed to me for posting and statistics logging.

Maps will be randomly preselected prior to each round of league and tournament play. Thus, respective games in each match in a given round will take place on the same map.

During the game creation process, all games are to be played with a "Top vs Bottom" game type and with the fastest game speed setting. Furthermore, a player is allowed, but not required, to choose "Random" as their race.

If for any reason an in-process game must be canceled (i.e. network failure, emergency, etc.), that game will not be counted. If a team believes this rule is being used to an opposing team's advantage, they must contact Ken Henisey as soon as possible.

Finally, no game hacks or cheats of any kind are allowed. If you suspect such cheating, please inform Ken Henisey as soon as possible.
Remember, ALL game replays must be received by Ken Henisey.
