Terrestrial globe

This is a 16-inch-diameter globe (Weber Costello Executive, 1:31,680,000 scale). You can find data on the physical properties of the earth here. Various earth science data and images of the earth are available here. There is available an aluminum rod, approximately three feet long, with collars, on which to mount the globe so that you can hold the globe by its axis and rotate it. You can also aim a light at it to illustrate the dependence of the length of daylight time and the seasons on latitude.
