Eric Mefford email: mefford at ucsb.edu (through October 2018) then eric.mefford at polytechnique.edu I recently completed my Ph.D. at UCSB in the Gravity group and will begin a post-doctoral position at École Polytechnique outside of Paris. Like many researchers in string theory, I work mostly in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. Through this lens, I have studied strongly coupled insulators in condensed matter, properties of QFTs near black holes, aspects of entanglement entropy, and constraints on the density of states in field theories with gravity duals. Recently, I have been thinking about the relationship between null energy and entanglement entropy in exotic spacetimes with wormholes. A link to my papers can be found here. Curriculum Vitae
