Basic setup required to upload the Schedule of Classes

1. Access to option C "Schedule of Classes" in STAR01 on Complete.
   • Go to Com-Plete Service Center to request a Com-Plete account.
   • Submit a STAR account request form and fax it to ????
2. Ability to run x3270 on a Linux system.
   • Install Xwin-32 on desktop system
   • In X-Util go into Options | Xhosts and Add shell.physics.ucsb.edu
   • Add the line "setenv DISPLAY hostname:0" in the person's .cshrc file on shell, where hostnam e is the name of their desktop system.
3. A shell account on www.physics.ucsb.edu that has the ability to update the physics postgres database.
   • Use vipw to change their shell from /bin/sorry to /bin/tcsh.
   • Edit /etc/sshd_config and add their username to the list of users for "AllowUsers".
   • Run "createuser username to give them the ability to update the physics postgres database.
4. Put unix tools in directory just for this purpose.
