Work Around for Apple Mail (Mac OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.4 or iOS 8.4 )
Open Mail.app, and go the Mail menu and select Preferences ...
Go to the Accounts section and select Account Information.
- For Incoming Mail Server, enter mail.physics.ucsb.edu
Click on the Server Settings button next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
- For Outgoing Mail Server, enter smtp.ucsb.edu
- Change the port number to 587.
- Check the radio button next to"Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) ".
- Enter your UCSBNetID Username and UCSBNetID Password for the mail server.
- Click "OK."
Click on the Advanced tab.
- Click the checkbox next to "Use SSL". The port number should change to 993 for IMAP connections (995 for POP).
Close the Preferences window and Save new settings when prompted.
