Apple Mail 9 (Mac OS X)

Configuring IMAP/POP-SSL and SMTP-SSL in Apple Mail (Mac OS X)
Open Mail.app, and go the Mail menu and select Preferences ...
Go to the Accounts section and select Account Information.
- For Incoming Mail Server, enter mail.physics.ucsb.edu
Click on the Server Settings button next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).

- For Outgoing Mail Server, enter smtp.gmail.com
- Change the port number to 587.
- Check the radio button next to"Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) ".
- Enter your User Name (UCSBNetID@ucsb.edu)and Password (UCSBNetID Password) for the mail server.
- Click "OK."
Click on the Advanced tab.
- Click the checkbox next to "Use SSL". The port number should change to 993 for IMAP connections (995 for POP).
Close the Preferences window and Save new settings when prompted.
