One of the highlights of the trip was our visits to Manuel Antonio National Park. Although the temperature was in the high nineties, we hiked through this beautiful rainforest which has stunning beaches located within the park. We encountered capuchin monkeys, a baby deer, woodpeckers, red crabs, a viper eating a bird, and a large assortment of wildlife.

And here are the stars of the park...the capuchin (white faced) monkeys! These guys were literally inches away from us.
They were almost like exotic squirrels; looking through people's backpacks and swinging on trees above us as we enjoyed the beach.

During the hike through the park we saw all sorts of wildlife. Lizards, spiders, deer, and if you look closely at the picture just below you'll see 10-20 little hermit crabs that we found in a pile near the beach.

Along the hike there were places where we could look out over the coast out toward the Pacific Ocean.
During the hike, the beauty and lushness of the vegetation was breathtaking.

After a long day of hiking, there's nothing better than relaxing at the beach.
This was a nice and less frequented beach that we hiked to in the park.
