Announcement

The 22nd Pacific Coast Gravity Meeting will be held at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, on March 3 and 4, 2006. In the tradition of the Pacific Coast Gravity Meetings, this will be an open meeting. All interested researchers and students in all areas of gravitational physics---classical and quantum, theory and experiment---are invited. Graduate students and postdocs are especially encouraged to attend. We would like this meeting to serve as a communication medium among all branches of gravitational physics. We particularly encourage participants from the quantum gravity, string theory, experimental gravity, and astrophysics communities. Because this is a regional meeting, many participants will be from the Western United States, but all are welcome.

Participants and Talks

The meeting will follow the standard, very informal, format of previous PCGMs. All talks will be 10 minutes long, plus 2 minutes for questions. There will be no proceedings. Transparencies and audio of the talks will be made available online. Here is the list of participants and talks.

Schedule

Here is the schedule of talks for the meeting.

Lodging

A block of rooms has been set aside at the nearby Best Western South Coast Inn at the KITP rate of $103 per night (plus tax). Please contact the hotel directly to make reservations (1-805-967-3200 or 1-800-350-3614 ); don't forget to mention the conference (PCGM) when calling. The rooms will be held at the special rate until February 2nd. The KITP Visitor's Page lists alternative accommodations, as well as directions to the KITP and information on what to wear. (The PCGM is not an "official" KITP event, however, so please do not contact KITP staff; send all inquiries to David Mateos, or directly to the hotel.)

Here is a map of the Santa Barbara area, with the locations of the KITP and Best Western marked. In addition, there is a more detailed map of the area surrounding the University (the KITP is near the East gate), and a campus map (the KITP is located in Kohn Hall).

GGR Prize

A prize will be awarded for the best talk by a student at the meeting.
