These strips originally
appeared in the Crawford Pacer,
the biweekly newspaper of Crawford High School in San Diego, California, during
ScottŐs junior year in high school. (The Crawford mascot was the Colt, and the
schoolŐs archrivals were the Hoover High School Cardinals.)
These entertaining early
strips, featuring an anthropomorphic equine superhero, are harbingers of Scott
and Roy ThomasŐs Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew!, which first appeared in 1982.
