About Me

I am currently a graduate student in the Physics Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
I graduated in 2003 from
Dartmouth College, where I majored in physics and minored in applied mathematics.
I grew up in a small town called
Geneva, located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State.

Research

My primary scientific interest is high energy theoretical physics, particularly gravity and gravitational aspects of string theory.
I work in the
Gravity/Relativity group, which has close ties to the String Theory group.
My recent research has involved the classical physics of black holes and topics related to gauge/gravity duality.

Here is a list of my publications.

I am also an active participant in the graduate student
High Energy Journal Club .

Teaching

I have a research appointment for the 2008 academic year and so I am not teaching!

In past years I have TA'ed various undergraduate introductory physics courses, as well as the graduate level General Relativity course, 230B.
I have also served one year as the Physics Department's Head Teaching Assistant.
