Welcome! I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
I study how planets form and evolve through their orbits and atmospheres.
Thousands of exoplanets have been discovered over the past 30 years.
Collectively, they are telling an exciting (and rarely predictable) story about when and where planets form, how their orbits and atmospheres
change over time, and how our solar system fits into the broader context of planetary systems.
My research group uses a combination of ground- and space-based facilities such as Keck Observatory
and the James Webb Space Telescope to address questions about planet assembly, growth, migration,
demographics, and habitability spanning timescales from a single rotation to a Hubble time.
Are you a prospective graduate student or postdoc interested in joining my group? Feel free to reach out over email!
I'm always happy to chat about opportunities.
