I'm David, a PhD candidate in the physics department at UCSB. I do theoretical physics, with a focus on semiclassical quantum gravity and conformal field theory. Using tools from holographic duality, I probe universal features of quantum gravity to better understand its structure. I am interested in a broad range of topics including 3d gravity and 2d CFT, black hole thermodynamics, gravitational path integrals, and the interplay between geometry and physics. I'm also passionate about teaching and have been a TA for most of my time at UCSB. I got my undergraduate degrees in math and physics at Columbia University, but I moved out West for the mountains and seaside views. I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and the great outdoors, and I also play the piano and like to listen to (semi)classical music.
Feel free to contact me by email at davidgrabovsky [at] physics [dot] ucsb [dot] edu. If I have fallen into a black hole, I'll do my best to reply via correlations in the Hawking radiation.
