Welcome to the HEP Journal Club (JC) home page. The HEP Journal Club meets every Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the KITP small seminar room. JC presents lectures of general interest to graduate students covering a wide range of topics including (but not limited to) string theory, high energy theory and phenomenology, gravity and mathematical physics. Feel free to suggest topics, articles, or speakers, or to volunteer to help present a talk. Please send comments via email to virmani "at" physics.ucsb.edu.

First year students are particularly encouraged to attend and give talks!

This quarter we will have lectures on the general theme of AdS/CFT. We are planning to cover a significant part of the D'Hoker and Freedman's review supplemented with some material from the original AdS/CFT papers like hep-th/9711200, hep-th/9802150, and hep-th/9802109. Towards the end of the quarter we will be discussing some thermal aspects of the dualities.
