I'm a graduate student in the UCSB string theory group, working with my advisor Gary Horowitz. My research interests include critical phenomena in AdS/CFT, black holes in string theory, and the intersection between condensed matter physics and string theory. More broadly I am interested in geometric and gravitational aspects of string theory. I came here after earning a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Brandeis University, where I worked with Albion Lawrence.

From Fall 2007 to Spring 2009 I was in charge of UCSB's High Energy Physics Journal Club.
