Isolated
Network includes:
· 10/100 copper switched ethernet to each network device.
· Connectivity to other devices on the isolated network.
· Configuring the port to the required network.
· Local DNS and DHCP services within the isolated network.
Isolated
Network connections are intended for
those machines running any operating system, but do not need access to the
Internet.
This
level of support is for machines without ongoing management. No other central services will be accessible
from this machine. The machine will be
able to fully interact with other systems on the isolated network (i.e. NFS
mounting, FTP transfers, Telnet and SSH logins, Windows file sharing), but will
be unable to interact with any machine outside of the isolated network. These
machines will not be accessible from outside the Broida network.
We
intend to provide a “Drop Box” (firewall) server to interact between the
isolated network and the rest of the Broida networks. This system will allow FTP or similar access from the isolated
network and from the other networks in Broida. In this manner, large files, data sets, etc can be transferred
from the machines on the isolated network to office computers and other
servers. No computer system will be
able to work with both sides of this firewall.
You will need physical access to machines on both sides of the firewall
to utilize it.
