Introductory Mechanics, Part Deux

Welcome to the second half of your exploration of classical mechanics! We are going to be learning some cornerstones of physics, particularly about things that spin (angular momentum), and things that bounce (harmonic oscillators).

The text is "An Introduction to Mechanics" by Kleppner & Kolenhow. Expect to cover all of Chaps 6 & 7 (except 7.7), select bits of Chaps 8 & 9, and all of Chap 10.

We will also be using the 4th edition (not the 5th edition) of Physics (Vol 1) by Halliday, Resnick & Krane.

Lectures are 12--12:50, MWF, Broida 1610. There are 4 recitation sections, all on Friday:

1 p.m., 3 p.m. (Katherine Hyatt)
