COSMIC SUPERSTRINGS
The conjectured stringy structure of elementary particles is
normally visible only at extremely short distances. However, strings produced
in the early universe can expand along with the universe to reach cosmic scales
today. I discuss the conditions under which this will occur, and the observational
signatures of these strings.
