Currently I am a researcher in Prof. Alan J. Heeger’s group with appointments at Center for Polymers and Organic Solids (CPOS) and Mitsubishi Chemical Center for Advanced Materials (MC-CAM), University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Prior to joining Prof. Heeger’s group, I received my Ph.D degree (Dec. 2005) in Electronic and Optical Materials from Department of Materials Science and Engineering in University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Prof. Yang Yang as dissertation advisor. I also hold a M.S. degree in Physical Chemistry (2001) and a B.S. degree in Chemistry (1998) both from Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Organic semiconducting and optoelectronic materials design, preparation, characterization mainly for applications in ultrathin thin films; Device engineering and fabrication based on semiconducting and metallic polymers and small molecules; Exploring new materials, advanced processing methods, and suitable device architecture technology for functional thin film devices, for examples, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs), polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (PLECs), organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs), and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs).
