I am a third-year graduate student in the department of physics. I study fluids and other materials that look a lot like fluids at a microsopic scale, but act like solids (like window glass, golf club metals or even sand).
About your TA

I work with the Physics Circus, and I help out with the Women in Science and Engineering and Women in Physics groups on campus. Undegraduate students can participate in all of these organizations, too, so feel free to talk to me about them if you are interested.
I was an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, where I got bachelor degrees in physics and mathematics. Before entering graduate school I took a year off to be a snowboard bum/waitress in Silverthorne, Colorado near Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin, so I used to be good at hitting tables and rails before I became a lame graduate student.
