A Quantum Gravity summer school will be held at
the Institute for Mathematics of the National Autonomous University Of Mexico
(UNAM) in Morelia, Mexico June 23-July 3, 2010. Lectures at the school
will describe current research in several approaches to quantum gravity, including
string theory, loop gravity, and causal dynamical triangulations.
Lectures will be appropriate for advanced Ph.D students are beginning postdocs.
The goal of the school is to bring together researchers from these different approaches
from throughout the Americas.
The location and timing of our school have been chosen to synergize with the
19th International Conference on General Relativity and
Gravitation (GR19), to be held July 5-9, 2010 in Mexico City.

The school will take place in the
UNAM Campus ,
located 6 miles from downtown Morelia where the participants will be hosted.
Daily transportation from/to downtown to UNAM will be provided.
The conference hotels are all located in the historic city downtown (designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site),
within walking distance from each other, and in the vicinity of plenty of restaurants,
cafés and plazas which provide an encouraging atmosphere for informal discussion.
Morelia is situated in central Mexico on the Mexican plateau at an
elevation of 1950 m (6,400 ft.). Morelia is the capital of the Mexican
state of Michoacán and has a population over 600,000. It is near both
Guadalajara (267 km, 166 mi.) and Mexico City (276 km, 172 mi.).
The typical temperature range in Morelia is between 14-24 C (57-76 F).
The rainy season includes June and July.
